From a vineyard on the hill outside the winery in Monforte d'Alba, the 2023 Dolcetto D'Alba boasts a ripe magenta color with a bright purple tinge. On the nose, it's lifted with notes of mixed berries, a light pepper spice, candied flowers, and mixed berries. Medium-bodied, it has good structure, with fine tannins, zesty fresh acidity, and a mouthwatering finish. It's spritely and poppy with snappy fruit and, given that it was only recently bottled (March 2024), it's going to be even better in a few months. I love these wines, which can transcend seasons, and this one will be best enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.
